Handmade End-Grain Cutting Board This beautiful 1 5/8” end grain cutting board was handmade in California from choice Walnut, Hard Maple and Sapele hardwoods.

This is a reduced price item due to a small split in the maple and irregular joining of some of the wood. All gaps have been filled are are food safe.

It has been treated with high quality food-grade mineral oil and sealed with a mixture of mineral oil and organic, triple filtered beeswax. To ensure the life of This heirloom quality board, simply wipe clean with mild soap, water, and a damp cloth and reapply mineral oil when the board becomes dry or lighter in color (or every 6 months).

An end-grain cutting board has the benefits of being both attractive and easy on your knives. An end-grain board also has a very fibrous cutting surface, so a knife's edge is likely to sink into the wood fibers while you are cutting and can "repair" itself, therefore much less likely to leave scars on your board, maintaining it's look for years to come.
